Professor Matthew Dayomi holds the following registrations and qualifications: Pr.Pln A/1052/1998, MCIP (Can), Ph.D, MURP, MCIT (UK), MSFU, MPIBC, MNITP, MSAPI, M.URISA. (obtained in France, and Canada from the Universities of Aix-Marseille and Paris.

Professor Matthew Dayomi is currently a member of staff at the University of KwaZulu Natal (Howard College campus), in the School of the Built Environment. He has a wide range of experience in Planning, Environment, including, Spatial Development, and settlement planning and Transportation in and the application of remote sensing in the built environment among others. These are all evident in his publications and research. He has supervised Postgraduate students at Masters and PhD levels in Planning, and is a well-equipped and experienced academic to examine masters and thesis projects.

Prof Matthew Dayomi has been involved in various professional planning works in SA, Nigeria Canada and France (ingenieur-Urbaniste at the RATP, Paris). He is currently a member of the SA planning profession board (SACPLAN) and serves as chair of its education and training committee.
