11:05 – 15:00 ACHIEVING A SUSTAINABLE RESET IN AGRICULTURE
In Partnership With: Syngenta Agro AG
Agriculture in Africa holds significant economic and social importance accounting for a large portion of jobs and livelihoods as well as making significant contributions to GDP. Already heavily impacted by climate change, the industry is now also hit with COVID-19. This session will look at how we can build back better post COVID-19 unleashing the potential of agriculture and food markets to deliver sustainable development for all. With the African Union’s Malabo declaration commitments to Accelerate Agricultural Growth and Transformation for Shared Prosperity and Improved Livelihood through Harnessing Opportunities for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development by 2025 and the global United Nation’s sustainable development goals to be reached by 2030 – achieving a sustainable reset in agriculture is more important than ever.
