VIRTUAL NATIONAL MIGRATION AND URBANISATION POLICY CONFERENCE IN SOUTH AFRICA
26 – 30 July 2021
REGISTRATION CLOSING SOON – SIGN UP NOW
The Department of Social Development (DSD) and Statistics SA (Stats SA) are excited to bring you the inaugural National Migration and Urbanisation Policy Conference. The conference, which seeks to bring together stakeholders interested in the study of migration, will assist government by establishing a knowledge base of issues related to various aspects of migration and urbanisation to enable evidence to drive the drafting of policy and planning in this regard.
Join experts from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), Stats SA and DSD, among others, as they unpack issues such as the effect of COVID-19 on international and national migration; methods for analysing migration data; the impact of internal migration on areas of destination and origin; migration patterns and trends into South Africa from the international, region and neighbouring countries; how migration relates to health, gender, education, service delivery, climate change and poverty and sustainable development; and how to plan for migration management.
If you are interested in migration and how it affects our daily lives, and especially if you need to take migration into account when planning, then this free virtual event is for you.
