The City of Johannesburg is inviting applications for the positions of:

• Members of the Group Advisory Committees of the City of Johannesburg (Group Audit Committee, Group Performance Audit, and Group Risk Governance Committee).

All applications received shall be subjected to, inter alia, background and reference checks on prospective candidates.

Skills Required: Interested persons must have the relevant qualifications and experience in the following areas:

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Governance & Telecommunications, Scientists, Smart City/4IR, Legal, Finance, Insurance, Audit, Accounting, Engineering, Performance audit & Management, Change Management, Economics, Agribusiness, Real Estate, Property, Building Technologies, Tourism, Environmental Management, Transport Logistics, Urban Development, Spatial Planning, Risk Management and Compliance.

In terms of Section 93F (1) and (2) of the Municipal Systems Act, the following persons shall not be eligible for consideration as a member of the Group Advisory Committees or Director of a Municipal Entity:
a) A person holding office as a Councilor of any Municipality.
b) A person who is a member of the National Assembly or a Provincial Legislature.
c) A person who is a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces.
d) A person who is an official of the parent Municipality of that Municipal Entity.
e) A person who was convicted of any offence and sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine, and a period of five years since completion of the sentence has not lapsed.
f) A person who has been declared by a court to be of unsound mind; or
g) A person who is an un-rehabilitated insolvent.
