DEPUTY DIRECTOR: RESEARCH & STRATEGY BENCHMARKING
Department: Human Settlements
Branch: Policy, Planning & Research
Designation: Deputy Director: Research & Strategy Benchmarking
Location: 222 Smit Street, Braamfontein
Primary Function:
Lead, direct and manage the Development of Research agenda and Strategy Benchmarking for the Human Settlements and Built Settlements Environment.
Key Performance Areas:
• Provide strategic support, leadership and management for the Sub-Unit and the achievement of integrated sustainable Human Settlement and other Housing priorities.
• Provide a seamless administration of the unit that is supportive to maximum attainment of the Departmental goals.
• Coordinating and managing the development of Research, Strategy and benchmarking Agenda for the Human Settlements.
• Developing qualitative, quantitative research, periodic surveys, various strategy products and knowledge management incubation.
• Research the international, national & regional trends in the development of qualitative and quantitative research.
• Building and maintaining strong relations with internal and external business units, entities, key stakeholders and peers to ensure the correct focus and support around Housing.
• To maximize the productivity by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees to enable achievement of objectives of the Research and Strategy Benchmarking Sub-Directorate.
• Provide quality reports on the functions and performance of the Research and Strategy Benchmarking Sub Directorate

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
• Degree in Research / Social Sciences or Management Sciences at NQF Level 7;
• 7 - 8 years’ experience in Housing environment of which 4 years’ experience is a middle management level,
• Extensive and proven experience in field of research.
• Understanding of various systems applications used within the City such as SAP, Data Management systems, electronic document.
• Knowledge of related policies and legislation governing the Housing environment.
