LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

RESPONSIBILITY / DUTIES Assist with the implementation of the LED projects and ensure compliance with the aims and objectives of the IDP Assist with the implementation of the LED strategies and programmes and ensure that the objectives are met and that optimum utilisation of available resources are achieved. Reporting to the Manager LED on the needs / issues of concern / problems encountered whilst performing the laid down duties of the day. Advise on sampling frames, research survey methodologies, research instruments, questionnaire design to inform the data collection, processing and analysis components of research; Review research data and information and advice on appropriate data analysis methods: Advice on data and information analysis for research; Work, share knowledge and best practices on research data analysis and up to date LED industry knowledge across municipal departments and other municipalities so the all customers can be effectively advised and serviced.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS Relevant 3 year tertiary qualification Computer skills and driver’s license code B 2 -5 Years’ applicable working experience Ability to work under pressure Working knowledge of Local government legislation and constitutional mandate Working knowledge of Local economic development project and programme management. Working knowledge of SMC processes and MFMA requirements. and understanding of the roles and interactions and complexities of the three spheres of government in economic empowerment and development.
